I’m Richard, and I’ve been working for Options for nearly five years now as our Chief Executive. I’d like to take just a few moments to tell you a bit about the organisation.

Options is a small to medium sized agency supporting 105 people with learning disabilities or brain injury to live their lives to the full. We are passionate about our work, and recruit staff who share our passion. We want the people we support to have great lives, full of the things that make our lives good – and we call this person centredness.

What that means is that we are going to support someone we start by listening to what they, and those who love them, say they want in their lives. This forms the basis for the support we provide. So we don’t run group homes where people are slotted into vacancies, we build support around what the person wants and needs.

We are committed to turning no-one away because they are described as to challenging or too difficult to support. People can have as little as 4 hours of support a week, to as much as two staff with them at all times. However our goal is for people to live as independently as possible, providing that it is safe for them to do so.

Options prides itself on being a little bit different and as you look through the website you’ll see some examples of that. People are our passion and we believe that the people we support will get a service second to none.
